Dov Tadmor - Chairman
Dov Tadmor is Owner & Chairman of Saridav Investments Ltd., a private investment company. He is a shareholder and founder of IEL - Israel Equity Ltd., an industrial & services holding company which was founded by Tadmor and the Parkwood Corporation. Tadmor is also a founder, investor and Chairman of Aviv Venture Capital, a Venture Capital Fund.
Until 1999, Tadmor served as CEO of Discount Investment Corporation Ltd (DIC), one of the largest and most prominent public corporations in the Israeli private sector. During the fourteen years in which he headed DIC, the company’s market capitalization increased almost 40-fold, from some $50 million in 1985, to over $2.5 billion in 1999.
DIC's investment portfolio included many of Israel's leading corporations in the high tech, technology, industrial, services and real estate fields. These included Nasdaq traded companies like Scitex - engaged in digital imaging and printing; Elbit - active in medical imaging and defence systems; Gilat Satellites - in satellite communications services and Nice Systems in call center technologies. In the local market, DIC's investments included Supersol, the largest supermarket chain, Delek, one of the major fuel and energy corporations and Property and Building, a large real estate concern.
In addition, Tadmor was responsible for the establishment, together with BellSouth and the Safra Brothers of Brazil, of Cellcom, Israel's largest mobile telephone operator now traded on the NYSE and, together with United International Holdings (now Liberty), the founding of Tevel, one of Israel's cable television operators. Together with Rafael, the Israel Defence Ministry's research arm, Tadmor initiated a joint venture to commercialize military technology which led, amongst other successful enterprises, to the development of the novel disposable gastro intestinal device of Given Imaging, another Nasdaq traded company in which DIC invested at its formation. Other ventures formed under Tadmor's stewardship at DIC included the Gemini Venture Capital Fund together with Advent International and Albar Vehicle Leasing Services, which GE Capital joined at a certain stage of its development.
Dov Tadmor graduated from Tel Aviv University Law school. He contributes his extensive experience and knowledge to Israel’s main institutes of higher education, as a member of the Boards of Governors of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, The Technion Israel Institute of Technology and Ben Gurion University.
Jon Boock - President
Jon Boock established BVC Investments and Services Ltd. in 2001. BVC has invested in start up technologies and provides investment and management services to public and private companies. BVC's clients include companies in the telecommunications, healthcare, media, and financial services.
In the media field, Boock was responsible for the development of the activities in the local cable and satellite television markets of the History Channel, E! Entertainment and MGM film channels, as well as extending the reach of the MGM film channel to international markets. In the financial services sector, Boock founded Israel Funds Observer which provides coverage of Israel's money market industry and holds the distributorship for the domestic market of Morningstar, one of the world's leading providers of financial data and analysis. For the period from 1983 to 2001, Boock served as the CFO and Finance Director of Discount Investment Corporation and participated in all aspects of DIC's development and expansion as set out above. Boock was actively involved in working with Tadmor in negotiating joint venture agreements, financing, setting up and monitoring the activities of the newly formed DIC enterprises. Prior to joining DIC, Boock served in a senior management role at Tadiran Israel Electronics, then one of Israel's largest concerns in the field of civilian and military electronic systems, and previously with the Ready Mixed Concrete Group of Companies in both the UK and Israel.
Jon Boock graduated from the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand. He has lived in Israel for over 40 years and as well as being involved in other public activities, Boock is the Chairman of the Israel - New Zealand Friendship Association.
Adv. Gideon Koren -Senior Vice President and Legal Counsel
Adv. Gideon Koren is an Israeli attorney and practices contract, media, copyright and company laws, as well as environmental and planning laws. Koren has wide experience in international corporate law and acts for many Israeli industrial and service corporations as well as foreign corporations active in Israel. Koren has lectured since 1984 as an adjunct teacher at the Jerusalem Hebrew Univerity law faculty as well as the Tel Aviv University, the Technion, and more. Koren is a member of ICOMOS international Executive committee & serves as ICOMOS Israel National Committee Chairman as well the Secretary General of ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on legal, administrative & financial issues (ICLAFI). In addition he serves as the legal advisor to the Israeli Council for the Preservation of Heritage Sites.
